Funerals

Talking about a funeral is never easy. It’s one of the most difficult moments a family can face, and losing someone close brings emotional challenges that can feel overwhelming. During times like these, it becomes even more important to create a funeral ceremony that truly honours your loved one’s life, beliefs, and values.

As a funeral celebrant in Scotland, my role is to support you with compassion, clarity, and genuine care. I am a loving and supportive person, and my professional background reflects that. I have spent many years working with children, families, and communities, including serving as a Welfare Officer and Chairperson for Scottish Welfare. I also have experience in counseling, which has strengthened my ability to offer calm, empathetic guidance during life’s most meaningful and emotional moments.

I bring all of this experience together to create personal heartfelt funeral ceremonies that reflect the individuality of the person you are saying goodbye to. Whether you want a traditional service, a non‑religious ceremony, or a celebration of life, I work closely with families to ensure every detail feels right, respectful, and meaningful.

“Forever, we will cherish our joyful and emotionally rich family photographs, treasuring each captured memory.”

Stacy & Thomas

My aim is simple: to help you honour your loved one’s story with dignity, warmth, and genuine care.  I am here to assist, please call me directly or pass on my details to your Funeral Director.

What is the difference between a Celebrant and a Minister

A celebrant offers a non‑religious or semi‑religious ceremony shaped entirely around the family’s wishes. Ministers follow a religious structure. As an Independent Funeral Celebrant in Fife, I can include spiritual, cultural or symbolic elements if the family wishes.

Can we include personal readings and music

Yes — personalisation is at the heart of a celebrant‑led funeral. You can include favourite music, poems, readings, family tributes, symbolic gestures or anything that reflects your loved one’s life. Before the celebration of life date I will need a copy of any readings or stories that will take place on the day. Just in case I need to step in and help support you.

What happens on the day of the Funeral

I arrive early, usually around 60 minutes so I can liaise with the funeral director, check the music and readings, support the family, and ensure the ceremony flows smoothly. My role is to create a calm, respectful atmosphere during a very emotional time.
